Lesson of negatives,forming negative sentences in English

Our topic today is about negatives in English,we will help you to improve your common mistakes,so let's review negative words and negative forms,by the end of the post you have a very good understanding of how to formulate negatives sentences in English?


Negatives verbs
Let's start with negatives verbs,fist verb 'To Be' :
example :
 ( negative just add not to your verb )
- It is common.       - It is not (isn't) common.
- He was here.        - He was not (wasn't) here.
- We are ready        - We are not (aren't) ready.
- They were many players      - They were not (weren't) many players
let's look at modals now,again as you know modals take direct questions and negatives.
Modal Verbs
example :
- Murray can swim.           - Murray cannot (can't) swim.
- She could play.                - She could not (couldn't)  play.
- We should talk                - We should not (shouldn't) talk.
- I would do that                - I would not (wouldn't) do that.
- I must work                     - I must not (mustn't) work.
Now we move on to other tenses.
Tenses where you can see the auxiliary :
example :
the auxiliary verb to be :
- She is looking for a paper.                 - She is not (isn't) looking for a paper.
- We are going to begin.                       - We are not (aren't) going to begin.
- They were leaving when he arrived    - They were not (weren't) leaving when he arrived 

let's looking some other auxiliaries now :
The verb have as an auxiliary :
 in the present perfect.

- She has just left.    - She has not (hasn't) just left.

 In the past perfect.

- He had had dinner before going out.   - He had not (hadn't) had dinner before going out

In the future tense.

- Prices will fall.     - Prices will not (won't) fall
Right now,let's look at tenses where we cannot see the auxiliary :
as you know,they are the present simple and past simple tenses.
the auxiliaries are : Do/Does for the present simple,and Did for the past.
example :

- We have a deal.     - We do not (don't) have a deal.
- Maher lives in Qatar.     - Maher does not (doesn't) lives in Qatar.
- They went to the stadium  - They did not (didn't) went to the stadium.
